Body Piercing Before/Aftercare

BEFORE

When you are ready to come in for your body piercing there are a few things to consider to make the procedure easier and more comfortable. The better you take care of your body, the easier it is for your body to take care of you. Try to eat well and come well rested.

The use of illegal drugs is strictly prohibited and will not be tolerated. With this in mind, let's tackle the issue taking the edge off the pain. Please do not drink alcohol the night before, or on the day of your appointment. Alcohol is not an acceptable pain management solution on the day of your body piercing.

One basic way to ease some of the swelling and pain related to body piercing is the use of ibuprofen. Ibruprofen should be used according to the directions and should not be used in excess. Refrain from using asprin products. Please follow directions on bottle or consult with your doctor, we are not offering medical advice.

AFTER

Piercing Aftercare Spray

H2Ocean safely removes dried discharge and lymrh secretions when used every 3-4 hours. H2Ocean increases circulation to the body piercing and may help accelerate the healing process. It may also help reduce lumps, scar tissue and itching.

Just spray 3 to 6 times per day or as needed to the desired skin area. For best results, spray on skin area and let the solution completely dry. Do not wipe it off. The 360 degree non-aerosol dry-mist sprayer is ozone friendly and the formula remains sterile from start to finish.

Artic Ocean Rinse

Use at least twice daily, or as directed by physician, dentist or piercer. One squirt inside mouth, vigorously swish for 30 seconds, then spit out. Do not swallow.

Aftercare Tips

1. Don't touch the body piercing. Also, don't let anyone else touch, kiss or lick the body piercing.

4. Never use alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, or hand soap because they can damage the healthy cells and cause scar tissue. Petroleum jelly is not recommended for aftercare, as it can collect and promote the growth of bacteria.

5. Avoid hot tubs and public pools during the healing process. If you must swim, cover with a waterproof bandage.

6. Reduce intake of alcohol, drugs, caffeine, and asprin during the initial healing period.

7. Avoid smoking, chewing tobacco and spicy foods for oral piercings.

8. Avoid direct sunlight or tanning beds for a few weeks. Definitely avoid tanning oils, lotions and sand.

9. Avoid tight fitting clothing which might irritate a new body piercing.

10. change the bedsheets at least once a week.
